The Hotels
Trier
- Hotel Residenz am Zuckerberg Trier
- Location: Short walk for the center of Trier
- Room Size: Large! This is a retirement community that rents out its unoccupied rooms as a hotel. The room was really a one-bedroom apartment.
- Overall: This place was great. Very easy to get to and the staff was very helpful. Would happily recommend.
Baden-Baden
- Hotel Heliopark Bad zum Hirsch
- Location: Excellent spot near the heart of the town
- Room Size: Everything would seem small compared to the previous hotel, but still plenty of room and nice size bathroom.
- Overall: This was a very nice hotel. The breakfast was tremendous.
Mürren
- Hotel Jungfrau
- Location: Right in the Middle of Mürren
- Room Size: Great size. We had a corner room with a great view as well!
- Overall: This was my favorite hotel. Our room was great and the view was unbeatable, but the owners of the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. I would try to stay there if I were to return to the area. They also had sunny side up eggs, so that always wins over scrambled in my book.
Munich
- Hotel Viktualienmarkt
- Location: Mere blocks from the Viktualienmarkt. This location was tremendous for exploring Munich.
- Room Size: Cozy. There was not a lot of space in this place.
- Overall: The location was really the best part about this hotel. The staff was very friendly, but the room was quite small.
Salzburg
- Hotel am Mirabellplatz
- Location: Right next to Mirabell Gardens. About 10 minute walk to Old Town
- Room Size: Nice size room.
- Overall: Hotel staff and lobby were very nice. This had my favorite breakfast of all the hotels, mainly because of the black currant juice. It would be a good hotel choice for a stay in Salzburg.
Hallstatt
- Hotel Gruner Baum
- Location: Right on the Lake and right in the middle of town.
- Room Size: Very nice size with a large bathroom.
- Overall: If we had stayed more than one night, this may have beat Mürren out as my favorite hotel. Overall, the room was great, I just was not very impressed with our breakfast in the morning.
Vienna
- Hotel Savoy Wien
- Location: Just off major shopping street of Mariahilfer. It was close to the museum quarter, but a 15 minute or so walk to inside the Ringstrasse. Even though the hotel was a bit further out from some of the main attractions, the location was still really good. Everything was easily walkable.
- Room Size: The room was a good size. Had a separate water closet. There was also a nice big fan in the room, which helped since the weather was getting warmer.
- Overall: Very nice hotel and I would definitely recommend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room is a bit small and for some reason, the ceiling in the bathroom is mirrored, but overall a great place to stay.
